Grok Bot Launches: SpaceXAI's Always-On Agent Team Hits macOS and iOS

On August 11, 2026, SpaceXAI — the operating name for xAI since SpaceX folded it into its operations this year — launched Grok Bot: "AI teammates you can give real work to" and "your team of always-on agents." Grok Bot is in beta and available today on desktop (macOS) and iOS.

The headline capability is a structural departure from the session-based coding agents agencies have been tracking. Instead of running one task per session and stopping when the laptop closes, Grok Bot's bots "share a computer of their own in the cloud, so jobs do not stall when you step away" — they keep running 24/7. This is the first mainstream, always-on, cloud-executed agent aimed at end users, and it lands in the middle of the tool landscape every agency comparison and pricing model now has to account for.

Why AI agencies should care

Two details matter most for agencies. First, there is no standalone price: Grok Bot ships inside existing subscriptions — at launch SuperGrok Heavy, Cursor Ultra, and Cursor Teams Premium, and since Aug 26, 2026 all SuperGrok plans, Cursor Pro, and all Cursor Teams plans — so agencies already paying those tiers gain agent capacity without a new line item, while everyone else benchmarks against a bundled competitor. Second, the product is coupled to Cursor, the AI coding company SpaceX acquired for $60 billion in an all-stock deal that closed August 14, 2026. • Cloud execution. Bots "share a computer of their own in the cloud, so jobs do not stall when you step away" — they keep running 24/7, even when your laptop is closed.
• Works with the tools you already use. Bots sign in across apps, inboxes, and websites — including platforms with no clean API or MCP — and come back with the work finished. SpaceXAI has not disclosed how authentication works.
• A managed agent team. Multiple bots run in parallel, with one acting as "chief of staff" over specialists for tasks like inbox, expenses, recruiting, bug fixes, or operations.

What the always-on model changes for agencies

Always-on agents change more than the tooling stack — they change the deliverable model. A bot that finishes jobs end to end without supervision competes with an agency's managed-service retainer, not just with its software. When a client can hand inbox triage, expense processing, or bug fixing to a cloud agent that runs around the clock, the agency conversation shifts from "how many hours will this take" to "which jobs should stay human."
